Organizational Refinement- An Individual And Communal Responsibility
social posturing June 4th, 2010
The need for organization in today’s world has become essential to being a functional part of society. He who is not organized does not move forward and risks becoming irrelevant. Without proper management of time, resources, services and most importantly people an organization is risking failure. Individuals too run the risk of making a disaster out of life and for this reason prosperity and to some extent peace of mind are related to organization.
A brief read of Seerah (the Prophet Muhammad’s Biography) illustrates to us that he was an organized person. And we find that scholars of various ranks but of quality were organized people. The spirit of Islam and its practical application cue us on the importance of organization from purification to social transactions we get a sense of the importance of organization. What we learn from Seerah is that the individual human being is not lost to organization and neither is organization lost to the pursuit of individual interest there should be a harmonious balance between group activity and individual action.
Organizational deficiency is a serious matter in the Muslim community it affects personal relationships and well as individual well being and confidence in the group. Therefore, it is incumbent upon each Muslim to strive to be organized and to inject the spirit of organizational maturity into community affairs. To begin with we ought to respect time and contractual agreements. If we were to implement these two acts of organization in ourselves and communities we could reduce our problems by 75%. Not knowing what the task of the hour is can be interpreted as not having a sense of direction and not respecting contractual agreements a sign of hypocrisy. Islam is about a sense of direction and vision and it is about sincerity.
